Performance

The Jaguar XF is powered by one of the two engine choices each coupled to an eight-speed ZF automatic transmission. However, on the top-of- the line, S trim provides 40 more horsepower. The BMW 528i comes standard with an eight-speed automatic transmission and rear-wheel drive, all- wheel drive being optional dubbed as "xDrive". It's powered by a turbocharged 2.0L four-cylinder engine that produces 240 horsepower and 260 lb-ft of torque making it go from 0 - 60 mph in 6.4 seconds which is 1.3 seconds slower than the Jaguar XF. The XF therefore, delivers the punch when it comes to performance.

Interior

The 2016 XF is designed as a five- seater and possesses a cavernous cabin that comes to life when the engine's start button is pushed preparing you for an exciting ride experience. Its plush leather-appointed seats are adjustable to accommodate different seating preferences. The front passenger seat is also power-adjustable, and the bench-style rear seat can be folded to expand the track beyond its maximum volume of 19.1.Also, different trims such as the Prestige, R-sport or S-trim have heating capabilities on their front seats or rear seats. In the 528i, the cabin is attractive and trimmed with consistently high-materials. The instrument panel, however, is a clear connection to the company's past with its classic twin analogue gauges. Its multi-contour seats, comfiest and most supportive found in any car, provide a wide range of adjustments and sublime support for all driving scenarios providing satisfactory space in all directions for rear outboard passengers irrespective of their height. Although the 528i maintains its tradition when it comes to the interior, the Jaguar offers a more elegant and flashy interior. That's another point for the Jaguar.

Safety

Both cars have standard safety equipment that includes stability and traction control and antilock disc brakes. However, the XF beats the BMW when it comes to airbags. It's packed with dual front side-impact airbags and dual front side-impact air bags for protecting the driver and front passenger in the event of a collision. Also, dual roof-mounted side curtain airbags are included for head protection for all the vehicle occupants while the 528i has only the front-seat side airbags, side curtain airbags and active front head restraints.
