This 1955 Chevrolet 3200 Series -ton pickup (123.2 wheelbase) was built at the Oakland, California assembly plant and remains a documented original California truck with its original black plates, original bill of purchase, California registration, and Chevrolet warranty documents on hand. Finished in Regal Turquoise (repainted approximately 10 years ago), this rust-free example has been tastefully upgraded while retaining its classic mid-century character.
Power comes from a 1974 Camaro SS 350ci (5.7L) V8 built February 9, 1974, paired with an original GM 4-speed Hydra-Matic transmission. The engine bay has been extensively refreshed with quality components, including an MSD Street Fire HEI distributor (8362), MSD Street Fire spark plug wire set, Edelbrock small block intake manifold, Edelbrock 4-barrel carburetor, Edelbrock high-capacity fuel pump, Edelbrock billet aluminum fuel filter (8130), Edelbrock throttle return spring and chrome bracket, vintage-style dual snorkel air cleaner, orange valve covers, chrome V8 thermostat housing, JEGS billet timing set and cover, Fel-Pro oil pan gasket set, new flywheel, and a small block Chevy stock-capacity oil pan in orange. Additional updates include new dual 3 exhaust pipes with chrome tips, new engine hoses and belts, a Chevy truck radiator shroud, radiator flush in 2019, and a Duralast battery installed in October 2021.
Braking and drivability have been improved with a JEGS power brake booster conversion kit, while steering has been modernized with a 1955-56 Chevy front steer rack conversion with power steering, a 1956 Chevy Bel Air retrofit power steering column, tilt automatic shift on the column, chrome steering column drop and bracket, and a 56 Chevy Bel Air steering wheel.
The interior was refreshed in 2019 with new upholstery and carpeting, along with a new sun visor and headliner, newly restored door armrests, and refinished oak wood bed flooring. All control buttons are fully operational, including lights, wipers, and emergency lights.
The truck rides on five Coker P235/75R15 wide whitewall tires mounted to five 15x8 Chrome Smoothie wide wheels, complemented by Baby Moon hubcaps, chrome lug nuts, and chrome valve stems with caps.
Audio has been upgraded with an Alpine stereo system featuring USB external interface, an Alpine amplifier mounted under the seat, four speakers (two front, two rear), and three tweeters (one under dash, two rear).
This well-documented California example blends classic Task Force styling with period-correct hot-rod attitude and thoughtful mechanical upgrades, offering vintage appeal with improved drivability and usability.
